Al Masaood Automobiles Becomes First Automotive Company to Attain ISO 45001:2018 Certification in Abu Dhabi

Monday, 17 February 2020

Al Masaood Automobiles has received a new ISO certification; ISO 45001:2018, which marks it as the first automotive company in Abu Dhabi to receive this distinguished accreditation from Bureau Veritas. This certification recognises AMA’s conformance with ISO requirements for employing an effective Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management system.

The new ISO standard supports AMA in implementing a comprehensive approach to occupational health and safety, or in improving the performance of its existing system through the prevention of work-related injury and ill health. It also recognizes AMA’s ability as a leader in the UAE’s automotive industry to continuously provide world-class products and services whilst maintaining efficient and effective quality, health, safety and environmental management systems and processes.

Krupa Rahul, Certification Business Line Manager at BUREAU VERITAS S.A. said: “ISO 45001 is the new international certification standard in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS). Achieving ISO 45001 certification soon after the release from Bureau Veritas underscores Al Masaood Automobiles’ commitment to protect its employees. Appreciate Al Masood’s commitment to excellence.”

As focal area of the AMA’s organizational goals, ensuring the sustained provision of world-class services and products without compromising the health and safety of the environment, public and our workforce is of the upmost importance to the company – and will remain a prime responsibility of management at every level. AMA has an excellent track record in relation to attaining ISO certifications, having already received ISO 9001:2015, an organization conformance with the ISO quality management systems requirements; and ISO 14001:2015, conformance with the ISO requirements for an environmental management system that enhances environmental performance.

Irfan Tansel, CEO of Al Masaood Automobiles said: “The new accreditation is undoubtedly a large leap forward for AMA as it once again demonstrates our desire to be Best of the Best in everything. This success would not have been possible without the tremendous efforts and dedication of our trusted and talented team – with special thanks to Arsen Simonyan; Automotive Business Analyst, and Nerissa Perada; QHSE Manager, who have put in large efforts and added great value to obtaining this certification in record time.”
