AL MASAOOD PRESENTS MTU AND VOLVO PENTA ENGINES AT DUBAI BOAT SHOW

Abu Dhabi, 1 March 2017: Abu Dhabi’sAl Masaood Group is once again featuring as an exhibitor at the Dubai International Boat show this year, at Booth EX-28.  The Group’s Power Division has been a regular participant at the Show for the past 13 years, representing MTU and Volvo Penta marine engines.

At this year’s event Al Masaood will be featuring MTU’s Marine Propulsion Diesel Engine 16V4000 M93, which provides 4,185 Bhp, and the MTU Marine HYBRID Propulsion System.  In addition it will be demonstrating Volvo Penta’s Marine Propulsion Diesel Engine Model D13 – 700, which produces 700 Bhp and the Volvo Penta Propulsion monitoring and control system “Blue Vision New Generation”.

Al Masaood Power Division was established in 1972, and since early 2017 has been based in a state-of-the-art 8,500 sq m facility in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi.

The Division has established a long-standing reputation within the power industry worldwide, and has a peerless expertise in marine propulsion and power generation systems. Al Masaood also provides maintenance and repair services for UAE government departments, civil defence, the armed services, oil and gas companies as well as private and corporate clients for a wide range of land-based and marine engines and turbines.

MTU develops and produces large high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships and heavy land, rail and defence vehicles, drive systems for use in the oil and gas industry as well as power generation.

Volvo Penta is a global supplier of power solutions to marine and industrial applications. In 2017 Al Masaood Group was awarded the exclusive Yacht Series Support Center by Volvo Penta to provide all yachts equipped with their advanced Inboard Performance System (IPS) and engines in the Middle East region with the company’s exclusive Yacht Series Support Service.  Volvo Penta has 19 such dealerships in Europe, and this is the first such arrangement to be dedicated to the Middle East.

Al Masaood became the UAE distributor of MTU Friedrichshafen in 1982. The relationship was strengthened by extending the area of responsibility of Al Masaood to the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2011. In 2013 Gulf Craft and Al Masaood jointly announced a “Preferred Partner” agreement with MTU, with the UAE-based yacht builder recommending its clients the MTU powered diesel engines as part of its preferred propulsion systems in its superyachts, reflecting the trend for bigger builds from the UAE-based superyacht builder.
