3R’s – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Following on our ‘Go Green’ campaign, this week we will be focusing on the importance of the 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Have you ever wondered why the 3R’s are so important? Human beings have several needs, from basic necessities such as eating to high-end needs such as entertainment and beyond. All the tasks involve creating waste, whether it is mixed organic waste such as fruit and vegetable skin peel or newspaper, or non-biodegradable waste such as medical waste, tetra packs or single-use plastic packaging.
So, here are the bigger reasons as to why the 3R’s are important.
• Save energy
• Reduce the pollution level
• Lower the greenhouse gas emissions
• Help sustain the environment for future generations
• Reduce the amount of waste that will need to be recycled or sent to landfills and incinerators!
Let us all start making small changes in our daily habits by using the 3R’s to save our environment. It all starts with a small change to make a big difference.
