I am delighted to announce that Al Masaood Commercial Vehicles & Equipment (CV&E), led by its General Manager, Mohamed El Zeftawi, has launched in partnership with Renault Trucks Middle East, Renault Trucks E-Tech, the first 100% electric heavy-duty waste management truck in the UAE and the entire Middle East. The launch was held on 25 May 2023 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Grand Canal, Abu Dhabi.
This collaboration towards sustainable mobility in the waste management sector was powered by multiple valuable stakeholders: Tadweer, Averda, and Gorica, all to whom we are grateful.
Together with the Al Masaood CV&E team, we welcomed representatives from the government, Olivier De Saint Meleuc, President of Renault Trucks International and Gregoire Blaise, President of Renault Trucks Middle East, in the presence of H.E. Tariq Ahmed Al Masaood, Director of Al Masaood Group. Collectively we launched the Renault Trucks D Wide 26t E-Tech Electric, an ideal vehicle for urban waste collection with low operating costs while maintaining optimal range and payload.
The launch of Renault Trucks E-Tech reflects Group Industrial's dedication to diversifying its products offerings with sustainability at its core, providing eco-friendly trucks to Abu Dhabi's waste management sector with green technologies built for the future. Equipped with Gorica's technology on the electric garbage compactor, the Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide P6x2 will be operating in Abu Dhabi to collect household waste, almost silently with zero tailpipe emissions.
While we celebrated the launch of Renault Trucks E-Tech, we also celebrated the expansion of our long-term distributorship partnership with Renault Trucks. This collaboration further anchors Group Industrial's business landscape to deliver more sustainable industrial solutions and continue to chart our path to sustainability in the UAE, in line with UAE's Net-Zero 2050 ambitions and Abu Dhabi's Environment Vision 2030.
