At Al Masood, we believe that a company’s mission, vision and values (MVVs) are among the most important things that you can communicate to your employees. They are powerful tools to create ownership and solicit loyalty. Additionally, they are our only means in which we create harmony and consistency in our customer service.
A couple of years back, our MVVs were defined during a high-profile strategic session that was led by our Board of Directors, Executive Committee (ExCo) and select members of the management team including myself. In this session, our corporate values were carefully chosen to mirror Al Masaood family’s great legacy and authenticity. We kept in mind the Group’s rich history of 50 years of serving its community, advancing its nation, and inviting the world’s best brands to make the UAE their home.
Today, I would like to share with you an expanded definition to each of Al Masaood’s corporate values. These definitions will help you get a deeper understanding of our culture and should enable you to embrace the Al Masaood way of work.
1. Empowered – Encouraged to handle job-related problems by myself, inspired to get creative at work, having the tools, resources, and knowledge to perform the job to the highest standards.
2. Excellent – Continuous improvement and delivering excellent results in everything I do.
3. Optimistic – Positive outlook both at work and personal life; an ability to see an opportunity in every challenge.
4. One Team – Working together with immediate team and wider groups, investing in relationships with others.
5. Engaged –Committed to achieve company and personal goals and objectives, striving for business and personal success, enjoying work.
Secondly, I am really excited to share with you that we are at the final stages of launching our employee engagement tool Kanari. Through Kanari, HR will be asking you a number of questions through a survey that can be accessed via a mobile app also. A very important measure through this survey is to conclude your valuable opinion on whether your division or department management and employees are living and breathing the Al Masaood values at work.
I call upon our all leaders across the Group to implement these values within your teams. Our values form an integral part of our Code of Conduct and must be ingrained in our culture. This means they are reflected in our dealings with all stakeholders, both internally and externally. These values also form an integral part of accountability to each other in our working relationships.
