As the world shifts its focus towards an environmental reset, brands are now joining the global movement of adopting more sustainable strategies. Countries are racing to fulfill their environmental goals, and roll out more rigorous measures to cutting down emissions and embracing greener practices.
This has also been mirrored in the UAE, with the government taking vigilant steps in its Sustainability Agenda – mainly championed by the transformation to clean energy and the creation of a healthy ecosystem.
As solid believers in this green way forward, we at Al Masaood view sustainability as a key priority in our business agenda, and so do many of the brands that we represent.
As one of the pioneers in the field of sustainable solutions, Al Masaood has made significant strides in the environmental context, and contributing to decreasing water and environment pollution. The crown of it all being SHAMS+, the first UAE-built smart electric charging solution for electric vehicles and hybrid marine vessels. This solution was launched by Al Masaood Power Division at the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit in May. Yet another achievement by the Power Division is the sustainable engines devised by MTU and Volvo Penta for the country’s mega yacht industry, and the very first hybrid marine propulsion concept, designed to enable zero emissions in marine vessels. In addition to all these are the eco-friendly hydrogen flying boats that will be powered by our very own Power Division.
We are rapidly advancing in all fields. We have Al Masaood Bergum launching the latest modular building system- Cross Laminated Timber (CLT)- which utilizes highly sustainable carbon capturing materials. Our automotive brands have also committed to more environment-conscious agendas and ambitions. As a matter of fact, Nissan was the first Japanese automaker to commit to the ‘Race-to-Zero’ emissions, and TotalEnergies has charted a strong pathway to implementing circular economies and delivering products that support the transition to clean energy.
On this special day today, World Environment Day, it goes without saying that we as a Group are working actively on an accelerated movement towards the compliance with Abu Dhabi’s Environment Vision 2030. As the UAE hosts the UN Climate Change Conference 2023 – the COP28 - in November 2023, we are confident that the country will be successful in uniting world nations for change. We look forward, and with great resolve, to being a solid supporter to the government and the nation in paving the way for a brighter and cleaner tomorrow.
