Al Masaood Automobiles, the exclusive distributor for Nissan in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Western region, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), organised a community cycling challenge at Al Hudayriyat on September 4, 2022.
The ‘Al Masaood Community Cycling Challenge’ featured a 10 km, 30 km, and 60 km lap for the entire family including kids to enjoy and was aimed at instilling a healthy lifestyle in the current fast-fast paced lives of people. During the race, Yasi Cycling Team, which is sponsored by Al Masaood Group, won the race by securing first and second places.
The UAE government has constructed several cycling tracks to promote this activity for a healthy lifestyle. When it comes to biking around the emirates, the nation provides a wide range of options, from leisurely rides to competitive races. Additionally, the nation has plans to enhance the number of bike lanes in the UAE, where Al Hudayriyat Cycle Track already has two loops, one measuring 5 km and the other 10 km. According to a YMCA study, those with an active lifestyle had a wellbeing score that was 32 per cent greater than that of inactive people. As a result, sports such as cycling which is a low-impact workout, supports the UAE citizens and residents in improving their quality of life.
Irfan Tansel, Chief Executive Officer for Al Masaood Automobiles said: “It is imperative to lead a lifestyle that places high priority on personal health. With the Al Masaood Community Cycling Challenge, we intended to foster a competitive new generation that is sports savvy and health conscious both physically and mentally. “This partnership between Nissan Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) demonstrates our commitment to community focused initiatives and events. It also reflects on our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which aims to embed sports into the lifestyle of our youth.” he added.
The attendees were periodically given refreshments during the event while the competitors received their participation certificates and medals for the winners at the end of the challenge. Through such events, Al Masaood Automobiles - Nissan is working towards building strong and lasting relationships with the local sports communities to help make Abu Dhabi a world-class venue for international sporting events.
