Ministry of Community Development hosts mass wedding for 50 young Emirati couples in Abu Dhabi

As part of the initiatives this Year of the 50th and the commemoration of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee, the Ministry of Community Development organized on Monday (December 27, 2021) a mass wedding for 50 young Emirati couples.

The wedding sponsored by Al Masaood Group was held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi in the presence of H.E. Nasser Ismail, the Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare Affairs; H.E. Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Masaood Group; H.E Tariq Ahmed Al Masaood, Board Member; members of the Board of Directors; officials; and families and relatives of the couples.

The mass wedding, one of the Ministry’s social responsibility initiatives, was aimed at promoting effective public-private partnerships and supporting the weddings of citizens. H.E. Ismail congratulated the couples and wished them happiness and success as they start building their own families.

He thanked Al Masaood Group for sponsoring the special mass wedding, as he praised the business organization for its efforts to strengthen community partnership, support social development in the country, and promote the stability of Emirati families.

He reiterated that the Ministry will continue to organize mass weddings every year across the UAE, pointing out that such an initiative reflects the values ​​of solidarity and principles established by the country’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

H.E. Ismail added that mass weddings for Emiratis push forward the government’s objective to promote quality of life and family stability, both of which are important elements of a cohesive society. This commitment will especially benefit young couples who are about to start their own families.

He also stressed the importance of partnership in organizing mass weddings, saying that these events complement the efforts of the government to ensure family stability and cohesion in line with the UAE’s National Agenda 2021. The agenda seeks to preserve a cohesive society that is proud of its identity and heritage.

Organizing a mass wedding for 50 couples is aligned with our country’s efforts to help cut down the wedding costs incurred by Emirati citizens and thank them for upholding UAE traditions. We believe that families are building blocks of a cohesive, integrated, happy and prosperous society.”
